Pure North Michigan’s 1,000 Nights
How do we get millennials to stay in Michigan? Part of it is the movement of 1,000 Nights of activities: something fun to do at least twice a week for ten years. This concept is grounded in a policy theory developed by Paul Schutt of Issue Media Group. Each night is exclusive to the individual: whether it is a quiet glass of wine, a club to dance until dawn or a sporting event. Without these opportunities, millennials will leave Michigan. Millennials want a third place to spend time in addition to home and work. That third place may be a quiet coffee shop, a great restaurant or a dive bar. Whatever that third place may be, it is essential to demonstrate those places in Michigan.
Pure North Michigan has really taken the League's 1000 Nights concept to heart. Click here to check out their website with information to help you fill 1,000 nights in northern Michigan!
