"As a kid my dad would take my brother and me on the people mover as a treat. It never bothered me that the ride was short, we were just excited to see the Detroit river from so high up. Now, as a graphic design student who has taken advantage and admired the complexity of public transportation in places like New York, Washington DC, Baltimore, Chicago, and Paris, it bothers me more and more that ours is so small and limited. Public transportation in Michigan has the potential to be so much more, especially to act as a link between the city and surrounding areas, something I think is desperately needed."
